Bristow Helicopters
CSI installs mobile shelving system for optimal small parts storage at Bristow Helicopters
The Client
Bristow are a leading helicopter airline with over 50 years experience of offering a comprehensive range of services including offshore crew transportation, Search and Rescue operations and training for future pilots and maintenance engineers. The company’s global presence and experience combined with their extensive, modern fleet of aircraft provide operational and geographic flexibility that is unmatched in the helicopter industry.
The Challenge
Bristow’s existing shelving system was filled to capacity and unable to provide adequate and organised small parts storage for the company’s steady flow of incoming components. They required a new shelving system that would improve stock retrieval rates.
Having impressed them with our expertise and personal, consultative approach on previous projects, Bristow turned to CSI (formerly ESE) for a solution to their storage problem.
The Solution
CSI initially carried out a detailed site survey and held meetings with staff at Bristow to identify their requirements and understand their workflow. From the information gathered, the project team went on to design, supply and install a new mobile shelving system tailored specifically to the client’s needs.
Dexion Hi280 shelving range was selected. Due to its clever use of mobile bays, the HI280 shelving system allowed Bristow to accommodate all current stock, leaving additional space available for new parts – whilst taking up a fraction of the floor space that the previous shelving system had used.
The Dexion Hi280 ergonomic design allows it to adapt to its load capacity. The shelving system’s hand-wheel enables users to move rows of shelving effortlessly, enabling Bristow’s staff to enjoy a safe and convenient operating experience. For further ease of use, CSI provided a complete range of storage bins to help Bristow organise their stock and improve picking rates. Lockable doors were also fitted to some bays to offer secure storage for the company’s more costly and fragile goods.
The CSI team delivered this project on time, within budget and to Bristow’s complete satisfaction. The client has since approached CSI with a second larger mobile installation.
