CSI maximises warehouse storage at Kongsberg Maritime with racking, mobile shelving and other storage solutions
The Client
Kongsberg Maritime, a Norwegian company, delivers innovative products and services that are used throughout the maritime industry sectors including offshore oil and gas, merchant marine, the renewables sector, the defence industry and the scientific research community.
The Challenge
Kongsberg Maritime were relocating their Aberdeen office to a new facility where they faced a space-planning challenge. The new premises, spread out over three storeys, needed to accommodate both a storage area and a workshop on its ground floor.
CSI (formerly ESE) successfully secured the tender for this project by impressing Kongsberg Maritime with a detailed analysis of their brief and by having a flexible and personal approach to the company’s requirements.
The Solution
From the outset of the project, CSI worked in partnership with the team at Kongsberg Maritime to develop a plan that would most effectively maximise their available space and suit their workflow.
This was a full turnkey project that not only included the installation of racking, static and mobile shelving but the supply of workshop and storage equipment as well.
Thanks to the strong relationships CSI Products has built with many leading industrial product manufacturers, we were able to source equipment directly from the factories providing Kongsberg Maritime with a handpicked selection of the highest quality products at an affordable price.
Heavy duty racking was selected for the storage of rental cases because of its design for safely storing long and heavy items. Dexion P90 racking was selected for other parts of the warehouse to provide secure storage for pallets.
The robust and adaptable Dexion Hi280 shelving system was the most appropriate solution for the storage of Kongsberg Maritime’s small parts. Static and mobile shelving were installed to match the client’s requirements. Mobile shelving was selected to maximising floor space in the warehouse and provide added security with some shelving units being fitted with locks to restrict access to the organisation’s high-value goods.
CSI provided a comprehensive package to meet all of the client’s storage needs including mesh partitioning, longspan shelving, slimline lockers and roller shutter cabinets for merchandising stock.
The team ensured that the client’s investment was future-proof by offering only heavy-duty, modular shelving products. Both the warehouse storage and the Bott equipment supplied for the workshop can be adapted to meet changing requirements. The manufacturer’s huge range of additional components and accessories ensure that Kongsberg Maritime can seamlessly expand their systems in the future.
This complicated project was completed on time and within budget.
